Ivan Saychenko — University of Parma # 2D structure formation in nonlinear quantum mechanics # We investigate the formation and the stability of 2D structures in nonlinear quantum mechanics. In particular, we are comparing two mean-field models, motivated as models for either ultracold atoms with short-range interactions or for fuzzy cold dark matter with long-rang interactions. Future studies should extend our numerical simulations to include excitations beyond mean field using the truncated Wigner method of statistical physics.
