Abstract
Modifications of the glass transition scenario in confined water with respect to the bulk phase are discussed. I shall focus on the metastable region around and above the crossover temperature of the Mode Coupling Theory, MCT. Originally intended for simple liquids MCT works also for complex liquids. Does it work also for confined ones? I will show that a careful analysis of the single particle dynamics obtained from molecular dynamics simulations of water confined in a Silica nanopore allows for tests of the theory also upon confinement. In this framework a discussion of recent experiments on confined water and a comparison with simulation results on other glass former liquids confined in different environments are also carried out.
